Because the round burns its powder so quickly, and because of the larger 220gr, subsonic bullets, you can get much better performance out of a suppressed .300 Blackout round than any .223 or 5.56 round. Lots of factory 300 blk ammo uses bullets that expand at .308 muzzle velocities but act like an FMJ below 2000 fps. With projectiles that expand down to 1500-1600 fps, (Speer TNT, Speer Gold Dot, Hornady SST) all the 300 blk hog hunters and deer hunters find it to be far more effective against 150-300 lb. critters than 5.56..

Whereas the 300 is a heavy .30 caliber round, the 5.56 is a .22 caliber (no it's not the same .22 caliber rim fire long rifle round in your 12-year-old plinker). So you can carry more of them. It's got a longer range of effectiveness. Just looking for the overall best one for mp. I’ve preferred the standard rounds in MP. .300 Blackout allows you to retain your 3sk to anywhere in the body and also allows a 2sk to the head, which the regular 5.56 cannot perform. Since .300 Blackout is subsonic, you wont have visible tracers, and you will prevent enemy’s skulls from popping ...The difference in size between .308 Winchester and 300 AAC Blackout is apparent. The .308 is a significantly larger cartridge suitable for engagement at longer ranges.
