On Thursday, a friend came over with an Autel Maxisys. The only codes found were P3190, P3191 and P0A0F. I have a Carista OBD2 Adapter (their app has major issues). I tried OBD Auto Doctor, which gave me the same codes as the Autel Maxisys. Dr Prius is currently loaded, but I have not purchased it yet.
The 2001-2003 Prius are sensitive to that, mostly because the engine isn't given much time to fire up before the hybrid ECU decides to stop trying. That's what the thing about replacing the ECU is about; the newer version allows a bit more time and avoids a lot of the P3191 errors.On the second-gen Prius, if you add 3.9 qt, I have found that this will bring the level past full. For the first few years, at least once each winter my 2002 Prius wouldn't start at first (or it started and then stalled after 30 sec) after sitting outside over a really cold night.
