Sep 27, 2019 · I think (and I may be wrong) that they chose the .45-70 caliber for it in order to justify the Far Harbor lever action rifles higher damage output. The idea of being able to change the caliber to .44 mag is a very good one since it is still a powerful cartridge and it is definitely much more plentiful in Fallout 4 than the .45-70.
